| David used to eke out a living from
government grants, til he quit research and teaching to become an
entertainer. Lacking a singing voice or any other discernable talent, he
chose writing. "I discovered a latent gift for libel," he explains. "But
never had the heart to slander real people. Anyway, real people
hit, sometimes real hard. Then I found out you can lie all you want
... about fictional characters! They can't gripe or sue, if you strand
them in space, or m arry them off to aliens, or ruin their reputations.
What a deal." |
| David's wife, Cheryl is also a reformed
scientist. They have a year old daughter who looks suspiciously human plus
a four-year old son who they're still not so sure about. |
